ANPC Awarded U.S. Air Force SBIR Phase 2 Contract

AFWERX selects ANPC for a Small Business Innovation Research Phase 2 contract to adapt its Deployable Precision Approach and Landing System for the U.S Air Force.

ANPC announces it has been selected by AFWERX for a SBIR Phase 2 contract in the amount of 1.25 Million USD focused on remote airfield operations and combat air traffic control to further its potential to support the USAF’s Agile Combat Employment (ACE) construct in harsh and remote environments. The Air Force Research Laboratory and AFWERX have partnered to streamline the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) process by accelerating the small business experience through a faster proposal to award timelines, changing the pool of potential applicants by expanding opportunities to small business and losing bureaucratic overhead by continually implementing process improvement changes in contract execution. The DAF began offering ‘The Open Topic’ SBIR/STTR program in 2018 which expanded the range of innovations the DAF funded and as of February 22, 2023 under this contract ANPC is expanding its efforts to create and provide innovative capabilities that will strengthen the national defense of the United States of America.

Under this SBIR contract, ANPC will enhance its deployment capabilities in austere locations and conditions by developing a modular form factor that can be loaded and offloaded from/to any USAF air or ground transport vehicle without the need for a forklift or heavy equipment. This development will also include the use of drones to calibrate the system when deployed to eliminate the need for manned aircraft during system setup. The agility of ANPC’s deployable system will bolster the Air Force’s mobility, provide an increased range of air superiority, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance, and increase the speed at which those capabilities can be deployed.

About ANPC

ANPC, based in Hood River (OR), is a sensor fusion company focused on developing innovative navigation and surveillance solutions to serve challenging airfields worldwide, and without any reliance on satellite-based navigation (GPS/GNSS).  It has developed the world’s only rapidly deployable instrument landing systems, which can be installed to full operational capacity in a matter of hours, in any runway environment regardless of terrain or climate. ANPC’s scalable architecture combines the use of legacy avionics with state-of-the-art data processing technology to serve airfields where other systems cannot, and can integrate virtually any type of airborne target data sensor to create a complete airspace picture for ATM, security, and approach guidance.
